UK Research and Innovation-CEH have a requirement for a Storage Area Network which at least matches the current set-up in size and speeds. Eventually the old storage shelves will be retired and this new storage will need to work alongside this, under the management of GPFS until that point. GPFS is already in place, so this is only for the storage shelves and expansion shelves, disks and any other parts required to slot this new storage into the existing set- up, across four sites in the UK (Wallingford, Bangor, Lancaster and Edinburgh).

The Contract was awarded via further competition under LUPC Servers, Storage and Solutions National Agreement (SSSNA) framework agreement.
