In House Extra Care Scheme Rent Voids

Housing Agreement for Extra Care: Stoneleigh, Barnard Castle Legal developed Housing Agreements for the Extra Care Schemes that run from 2003 - 2034. These agreements include the payment of voids for rents (section 7.6) in the schemes which DCC is expected to pay but it is not usual for us to be required to make void payments as in the past as Operational staff / in house service staff are very good at filling vacant placements. Due to COVID Ops were unable to fill some voids in the specified timescales which created void invoices from the Provider. This has continued with the COVID legacy still having an impact. The management agreement has another 12yrs remaining and voids may be liable over this period. Voids have increased due to covid and it is hoped that the voids will level and reduce over the coming year/2 years.
