Work description

The aim of this proposed research is to improve Defra's understanding of the best ways to improve sustainability of pest, weed and disease management in the amenity sector. Objectives are to: • Scope and provide recommendations for the design of a rapid evidence review to inform Defra policy. It is expected that this would cover academic and grey literature and guidance. • Conduct interviews with users and producers of evidence and guidance for pest, weed and disease management in the amenity subsectors listed above, to determine which sources of information and guidance they use and how these are rated, considering any gaps that need to be filled. • Conduct a rapid evidence review covering academic and grey literature and guidance (including digital resources where accessible) to assess its coverage, quality and usefulness. • Provide recommendations for how best to target evidence gathering and share knowledge
