## Description

Planning authorities have a statutory duty to ensure BNG is delivered by assessing planning applications and subsequently monitoring and enforcing relevant conditions and legal agreements\. To achieve this, the service depends on computer systems that can automatically calculate the BNG metric for planning applications, support monitoring and compliance, and integrate with existing planning software\.
