Work description

Phoenix Community Housing is a not-for-profit resident-led housing association based in south London. We own and manage more than 6,000 homes in the Lewisham wards of Bellingham, Whitefoot and Downham, and are now starting to build our first new homes. We were named the UK's 7th best landlord for 2017 in a poll by 24housing magazine - the third time running we've been listed among the top 10. We require an independent debt advisory service for our residents to assist with the following: To resolve existing debt issues that are relating to and impacting on their tenancy. To advise and assist them with rent arrears, including preventing eviction Advise and assist with complex welfare benefit issues, maximising tenants' income and supporting our Financial Inclusion Team Full debt advice service including priority and non priority debts Face to face delivery at our office at The Green Man to carry out in depth case work as required. This will include gathering information, identifying problems, giving advice, suggesting options and negotiating with third parties on their behalf. To provide a service to a minimum of 264 residents per year. Updating and liaising with the Income Team following appointments. Provide quarterly statistics.
