Work description
The London Borough of Croydon (the Council) is situated on the southern perimeter of Greater London and has one of the largest populations of the London boroughs. Croydon town centre occupies a strategic position in south London with excellent transport links to central London, Gatwick, the M25 and the South Coast.
The Council is legally required to appoint an Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) and Returning Officer (RO) to deliver electoral registration and run elections in the borough in accordance with statutory requirements. Electoral Services, part of the Resources department, supports the ERO/RO.
At every election the Returning Officer (RO) employs people in specific roles to assist with the preparation and delivery of the election. As a result, the RO needs to engage a supplier carry out the logistics involved under the instruction of the Head of Service
The Council therefore, invites quotations for the provision of an Electoral Logistics Services on behalf of the RO. The supplier will help to assist the RO with electoral logistic services for any election that takes place in the duration of the contract.
The contract is for 5 years with a break point at the end of year 3 should the council wish to terminate early.
