Description
Cambridge City Council is seeking suppliers to construct concrete pad bases at various locations in Cambridge. These bases will support bike stores and ensure proper drainage, durability, and structural integrity. The specific work includes: - Excavate and remove plants/vegetation and ground to a minimum of 175mm below surrounding paths. Remove evacuated material from site. - If close to a building excavate so finished level is a minimum of 150mm below Damp Proof Course (DPC)of adjoining building and so that DPC remains unaffected. - Compact base and lay a 75mm layer of type 1 aggregate tamp firmly down. - Provide formwork to cast base to and fibre board to existing surrounding structures to form an expansion gap left in situ after laying the path. - Site mixed concrete mix 1:2:4 minimum strength 25N/mm2 tamped and with edging trowel to a neat finish with a brush finish to ensure that surface is rough and non-slip. Concrete pad's minimum depth of 100mm. The concrete pads shall be constructed to the specified dimensions and be flush with the surrounding ground. Grade 25 concrete with reinforcement (mesh) must be used to ensure structural integrity, and proper curing practices must be followed to maintain the strength and durability of the concrete.
