## Description

The Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office \(FCDO\) conducts regular social listening and media monitoring, via a web based service, to manage the department's reputation and measure the owned and earned impact of its campaigns\. Specifically, social listening and media monitoring allows the FCDO's communication teams to understand audience sentiment around key policy areas, its programmes of work and services\. Monitoring tools are also used to help teams ascertain where conversations around these areas predominantly take place and who influences these discussions\. Ultimately, social media monitoring and listening allows the FCDO's communications teams to inform future campaign strategies as well as evaluate existing activities\.
