County Road Hub Spellow Library Alterations and Refurbishment

Description

Alterations and Refurbishment at Spellow Library, 125 County Road, Liverpool L4 3QF. Liverpool City Council (the Council) is procuring the full refurbishment of Spellow Library, in order to create a more flexible multi-purpose-use space. This will include: o Maintain the large open flexible library space o New front entrance access ramp o New enclosed office and help desk area o Installation of glazed sliding door to enclose children's library and allow for use as multi-functional event space o Ground floor enhancements including breakout spaces, enclosed classroom via glazed partitions and new group room o Public access to new WC suite and Changing Places Toilet o Refurbished staff room with kitchenette o New platform lift o Full redecoration including new flooring throughout o Remediation of any defective Glazing o Replacement of heating system o External brickwork and concrete to be made good o New curtain walling to replace existing timber framed glazing o External lighting feature o Upgrade to fire alarm system o Upgrades to emergency lighting o Existing staircases are to remain with balustrades to mezzanine level. Additional handrails to be installed for compliance.
