Work description

Northamptonshire Libraries and Information Service (NLIS) uses self-service kiosks to deliver library services that enable library customers to self serve when completing transactions (issues, renewals, reservations, returns, payments and viewing account information) thus allowing library staff to support customers with other council services. Our self service kiosks should be a multi-functional in that they allow not just library staff but also volunteers to support libraries in the above type of transactions but also enable staff to use the kiosks as an RFID work station to programme RFID tags which is increasingly important as we move towards a community managed library model for some of our libraries.. NLIS seeks to refresh our Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) hardware and software equipment in 15 x NCC Libraries, 4 x Statutory Community Managed Libraries, 17x Community Managed Libraries and 1 x Libraries Resources for Education (LRE) unit. Our solution moving forward will not require payments to be made by coins or notes but card payments only and we will require the supplier to assist the library service in appointing a card service provider to enable card and contactless payments. This is a further competition using the ESPO Framework 350 - Library Solutions and Systems Lot 1A: Library RFID Solutions.
