## Description

Pre-market engagement Local Authorities are required to understand the condition of their housing stock \(all tenures\) and to develop strategies / approaches to address issues of concern\. The Housing Act 2004 states that 'a Local Authority must keep the housing conditions in their area under review with a view to identifying any action that may need to be taken\. The Government recommends that this requirement should be satisfied by undertaking house condition surveys at least every 5 years\. Liverpool City Council, Wirral Council, Sefton Council and St Helen's Council are all in a position where they need to commission a piece of work to get an up-to-date understanding of the private sector housing conditions within their local authority areas\. The four local authorities are looking to jointly commission the work\.
