Description

Newcastle City Council is committed to providing services for older people which help them to remain in their own communities. Some of these services are aimed at preventing, reducing or delaying the need for statutory services. Lunch Clubs meet these requirements by supporting older people to get together, form friendship groups and also have a hot nutritious meal, and for some attending a lunch club is the only opportunity they have to meet other people. The purpose of this tender is for the development of a Lunch Club Support Service. The provider will work in partnership with the Council, transport providers, community groups, local businesses and schools to provide support to existing lunch clubs to become independent volunteer led groups and also support and encourage the creation of new groups when required.
