Work description
Post Office's core trading application and branch point of sale system (Horizon) is 25 years old and the current support contract (with Fujitsu Services) is close to end of life. Recognising this, and the needs of the Postmaster community, the Post Office board has approved a "Strategic Platform Modernisation" programme (SPM) to modernise and replace the Horizon system and related components.
A second device will be used to deliver core components of SPM, providing some of the technology that will replace Horizon in branches.
The New Branch IT Platform (NBIT) including the second device is being delivered via the SPM Programme.
POL requires a partner which can quickly and coherently provide access to a range of skills including experience led design, development, test, delivery and ongoing measurement and optimisation.
