Media City MC218 Upgrade

The MC218 facility which is extensively used across undergraduate and postgraduate teaching is using out of date software, and missing hardware pieces which would give it parity with industry and with our own dubbing theatre (also housed in MCUK).

The software required includes the industry standard convolution package, Altiverb, the Sonnox bundle (both already in the dubbing theatre but not in the labs), Oeksound Soothe 2, and upgrading our Izotope packages as they are now several years out of date. Hardware required includes portable audio and video recorders, and additional microphones as the current provision available in the MCUK stores is not enough for the students to carry out industry standard work. This will support tighter integration with the immediate industry neighbours and give confidence to students seeking work placements etc.
