Description
In order to progress a new campus in Manchester City Centre, the LTE Group requires the services of a works contract acting as Main Contractor. The appointment of a main contractor will be by way of a direct contract with the LTE Group. The project will be procured on a two stage basis, with the successful bidder initially being appointed on a pre-construction services agreement and then a design and build contract based on the JCT Design and Build Contract 2016 (as amended by a standard set of amendments). Under the PCSA the successful bidder will work along with the LTE Group's professional team and other advisers. Additional information: The project will be procured on a two stage design and build basis. Suppliers will be asked to express interest in the project and present information demonstrating capacity to deliver the required works and services. Following an assessment and shortlisting process, a limited number of suppliers (anticipated six suppliers) will be invited to submit a tender for the services to be provided during the second stage of the procurement process and for the prospective building contract. A further assessment will identify the most economically advantageous tender and the successful supplier will be appointed under a Pre-construction Services Agreement; this concludes the first stage. The successful supplier who has been appointed under the Pre-construction Services Agreement will assist the design team in the development of the project and present completed Contractor's Proposals and Contract Sum Analysis to the employer for acceptance. On acceptance of the Contractor's Proposals and Contract Sum Analysis, the supplier will enter into a building contract to deliver the project which concludes the second stage procurement. Part of the LTE Group, The Manchester College is one of the largest FE colleges in the UK and the main provider of 16-19, adult and HE in Greater Manchester. At any time, the LTE Group can be supporting 25-30,000 residents in Manchester and GM. TMC's strategy responds to national strategic changes, with probably the largest estate reshape in the sector, including the new City Centre campus.
