Work description
The Royal Borough of Greenwich is seeking to commission a service for the provision of both Drug and Alcohol testing service and DNA testing service for parents and care givers of children alleged to be in need of protection.
The Drug and Alcohol testing service is designed to assist social workers in their assessments and support decision making in child protection and care proceedings. The service is designed to test parents for drugs that are controlled under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971. The purpose of the test is to supply information on pattern of drug misuse, identify parents misusing drugs and provide opportunity to improve safety decision making and outcomes for children receiving child protection services. The outcome of the tests combined with sound clinical judgement is aimed at strengthening child safety for children in need of care and protection.
The DNA testing service is designed to establish paternity in private law cases ordered by the courts. The outcome of the tests combined with sound clinical judgement is aimed at strengthening child safety for children in need of care and protection.
