## Description

The project shall provide an understanding of the causes and sources of pollution and other pressures on the water environment, barriers to improvements, the adequacy of and progress in implementing the Water Environment \(Water Framework Directive\) Regulations 2017 \(the WFD Regulations\), and the need and potential for improvements within or to the current legal and institutional framework associated with this regime\.
