West Bay Car Parks Improvement Project

Description

This contract is for the provision of materials and labour for the resurfacing of West Bay Road car park, Station Yard car park and Bridport Arms car park at West Bay, Bridport, Dorset DT6 using a heavy duty cellular paving system (up to 7,934m2). Please note the contractor will be expected to provide site safety control and management throughout the duration of the works. The works are anticipated to last up to 12 weeks with a planned start date of 9th April 2018. The works will include the resurfacing of each car park using Cellpave65, a heavy duty cellular paving system and all associated works. This will involve excavation of between 200-235mm to formation level followed by the placement of geotextiles and a 135-170mm sub-base and finally the installation of the cellular paving system which is in-filled with 10mm singular sized gravel and demarcated. Dropped kerbing is to be installed along with steel rebar side restraint at each car park and the perimeter of the cellpaving will be made good where it abuts existing surfaces. New timber posts are to also be installed at one of the car parks. Note to contractor: Please be aware that only one car park can be inoperative at any time during the works.
