Description
The Council currently collects kitchen food waste in the areas of Corby and former East Northants however the Council will need to expand this service to the remaining areas of Kettering and Wellingborough (approx. 74,000 households). This is in line with current UK legislation which states that all Councils must introduce a weekly food waste collection service to all households by 31st March 2026. To provide this service, the Council is looking to make a one-off purchase of 8 x 12 tonne food waste collection vehicles. The Council conducted this procurement through a Direct Award process via ESPO Framework 215_24.
