Newchapel Rec (Chinky Park) Pump Track

Description

The Borough Council has obtained grant funding for a new pump-track provision at Newchapel Rec, which is owned by the Borough Council. The Rec although currently an informal, largely neglected area has in the past seen much greater use in terms of play provision and other recreational activities. There is currently an area which contains an informal dirt track for bikes formed by soil importation in about the year 2000, which despite being largely unmaintained formally still has substantial use. It is intended to redevelop the site to once again serve the local community as a local park. The first phase of this will be the proposed pump-track. The site is located at the junction of Newchapel Road and Lapwing Road in Kidsgrove. The nearest postcode reference is ST7 4RT.
