Work description

Competed as a Further Competition under Lot 8b the ESPO 664_21 Consultancy Services Framework. It was issued to the respondents to NYC's EOI issued in April 2025 to the Framework's suppliers, who had expressed an interest in taking part in this process.

The North Yorkshire Council sought a supplier for: Stage 1: A Landscape Character Assessment (LCA) for North Yorkshire Council covering its entire geographic area providing feature classes ( created through file geodatabases) to enable the council to create interactive mapping for our website on ARC GIS PRO software and an illustrative PDF report in clickable format. Stage 2: A separate follow-on Landscape Sensitivity/Capacity Studies (LSCS) the content and themes of which will be informed by the Landscape Character Assessment. Capacity/sensitivity studies are likely to cover areas of development pressure and growth for example housing and development at the edge of settlements and areas of renewable energy pressures in rural areas. Supplier to provide feature classes (created through file geodatabases) to enable the council to create interactive mapping for our website on ARC GIS PRO software and an illustrative PDF report in clickable format. Stage 3: The third phase will be a review of Locally Important Landscapes (LILA) which will be resourced by others (the in-house team). Suppliers are invited to quote to act as a critical friend to review their work and ensure it provides a robust evidence base.
