RDE 494 - Understanding, improving, and implementing the Ocean Sustainability

In the complex policy and evidence setting of the UK marine environment, exploring leverage points, identifying knowledge gaps, and understanding synergies and inefficiencies in policy processes has become crucial to sustainable management. Clarity in these areas will highlight risks and opportunities for change, trade-offs and intervention points within fisheries, energy and conservation policies, and help toward delivering on Defra's Ocean Sustainability vision, the Environmental Principles, and the commitments of the Joint Fisheries Statement and 25-year Environment Plan.
