Work description
The overarching aim of Cornwall Council is to promote and safeguard the welfare of disabled children and young people, and to work in co-production with them and their parents / carers to design and deliver quality services for disabled children and young people. As part of a broader statutory responsibility in respect of short breaks, the Council wishes to re-commission services for play schemes and youth groups for disabled children and young people in Cornwall. The incumbent provider has consistently worked with 150 disabled children and young people per year.
This contract is in two parts. The first part is the delivery of a holiday based activities scheme which can meet the needs of disabled children and young people on a county-wide basis so that it is accessible for families (usually delivered in the six district areas of Cornwall) across the County of Cornwall. The second part of the contract is to deliver 3 youth groups in the East, Mid and West of the County. The youth groups will be delivered in partnership with the Council's youth service.
These services are community based and draw heavily on supporting trained volunteers to deliver the services for disabled children and young people.
