Work description
Winchester City Council is seeking to appoint an experienced leisure operator to manage Meadowside Leisure Centre in Whiteley. The contract will be for 15 years and anticipated to start from Spring 2021. NB: please note any contract start dates given in this notice are indicative and the final dates are to be confirmed following the conclusion of the procurement. The Centre (PO15 7LJ) was originally built in 2000 and extended in 2010-11. It includes a 3-court sports hall, 32-station health and fitness gym, dance studio, meeting rooms, 2 small-sided 3G pitches (35m x 18m) and circa 50-space car park (which is free of charge). As part of the opportunity, the Council would welcome any investment proposals to improve the facilities on offer. The Services Specification, Leisure Management Agreement and associated documents will follow the principles of the Sport England Leisure Procurement Toolkit The contract falls within Schedule 3 of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 and is being procured via a hybrid of an open type procedure with the Council reserving the right to negotiate at its sole discretion.
