Work description
Rawwater Applied Technology Limited (Rawwater) has been developing a unique sealing offering called Molten Metal Manipulation (M3), which provides in-service leak sealing for industrial settings. Sealing solutions can be through bespoke solution development or through one of our developing proprietary technologies M3Spray or M3CollarCast.
Following successful trials focussing on sealing point defects in stainless steel, Sellafield Ltd (SL) wish to explore sealing long, thin defects in concrete, such as those which could occur in a construction joint between concrete pours.
Following submission, this is a costed proposal to implement the testing programme as described in Section 5 of report RT-1000-1279 (Proposal - Appendix B) Concrete Crack Repair: Proof of Concept Test Plan (Issue 2). The objectives of this project are to: • Build a test rig for small scale concrete M3Spray testing. • Build five concrete testing specimens. • Follow and document the results of the testing strategy and programme. • Determine the best spraying parameters to create a seal on each of the leaking specimens. • Determine whether the temperature profile for the Hydraulic sealing method is site suitable.
