Work description
The Company is looking to procure a contractor to build a waste transfer station at its waste management site at Harewood Whin, Rufforth. The proposed WTS would manage approximately 100,000 tonnes per year of kerbside collection "black bag" waste.
This material is currently accepted at the existing Harewood Whin Site and disposed of via landfill. The purpose of the WTS is to bulk up this material for road export to an energy recovery at the Allerton Waste Recovery Park which is currently under construction near Knaresborough.
Further information in regards to design etc. will be supplied during the ITT stage.
The company is currently seeking planning permission from the local planning authority (City of York Council).
