## Description

Background: The Pathogen Surveillance in Agriculture, Food and the Environment \(PATHSAFE\) programme is a cross government, Shared Outcomes Fund \(SOF\) research programme which aims to pilot a national surveillance programme for foodborne diseases and antimicrobial resistance\. Requirement: Cefas requires the supplier to provide technical services, to detect and quantify Antimicrobial Resistance \(AMR\) genes in DNA samples extracted from shellfish and wastewater using the SmartChip Real-Time PCR method\. DNA samples will be collected from Weymouth, UK and will be delivered by Cefas to the supplier\. A customised SmartChip will be required to detect the genes of interest and the real-time PCR will be performed\. In addition to the above, Cefas also require the supplier to provide analysis of the data and access to a data platform to visualise and download the results\.
