Description
The Trust' Sterile Services Department and Endoscope Decontamination Unit decontaminates all invasive medical devices (surgical instruments and flexible endoscopes) in line with the national decontamination programme procedure at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and West Middlesex University Hospital Tracking surgical instruments through the decontamination process to which they have been subjected is essential in decontamination services to ensure they have been processed correctly. It is important that the tracking system provides robust traceability of the surgical instruments and assurance of compliance with safety procedures so that the Trust is complying with all regulatory requirements.
