Work description
Research to explore the relationship between the aromatic content of jet fuel and contrail formation, and to establish if reducing the aromatic content of kerosene has a positive climate impact. Analysis will seek to identify the cost, safety and operational implications of reducing the aromatic content to different levels and will seek to clarify the trade-offs between any CO2 emissions generated during the hydrotreating process and the potential for reducing climate warming contrails.
