## Description

It is statutory duty of Local Authorities to provide secure transport to children whilst under authorities' protection\. Currently the London borough of Barnet, Family Services directorate use 2 companies, as one provides local transport, whilst the other is in North England\. Though the need of this requirement is not high, the quality must meet a certain standard as this transport is used for children that are at high risk including remand\. The service availability must be 24/7\. Drivers and escorts need to be trained in the field with risk assessment\.
