Work description

The IPO has a statutory requirement to publish legal reports the 'Reports of Patent, Design and Trade Mark Cases' ("RPCs")

Beyond the statutory obligation, the RPCs are an authoritative and established law report which is heavily relied upon in the IP sector. They are a potential source of prestige for the IPO and are important to many influential IPO stakeholders such as Patent and Trade Mark attorneys and the Judiciary (who confirmed this to be the case in a discussion held with Justice Meade on the future of the RPCs).

This contract is for the supply of the RPC publishing service to include editing, printing, distribution, sales and marketing, awarded as a concession contract.

The successful Bidder will publish significant cases relating to patents, trade marks, service marks, registered designs, design right and copyright in accordance with the IPO statutory obligations Patents Act 1977 s.123(7) and Patent Rules 2007 r.118.
