## Description

The School of Biological and Biomedical Sciences \(SBBS\) at Durham University is procuring a mass spectrometer with associated liquid chromatography system for quantitative proteomic applications\. The new spectrometer will be the primary analytical instrument for qualitative and quantitative analysis of protein samples from a diverse range of biological organisms and experimental protocols\. The liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry \(LC-MS\) equipment purchased on this tender must have the capability to do the following: carry out sensitive detection and quantitation of peptides derived from proteins by enzymatic digestion; detect and quantify protein post-translational modifications such as those described in section 6\.2 of the tender document; determine the mass of intact proteins\. The equipment must comprise of: a state-of-the-art high resolution/accurate mass tandem mass spectrometer, integrated nano-flow liquid chromatography \(LC\) system, any ancillary equipment required for their operation and computer hardware/software for instrument control and data-processing\.
