## Description

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service \(LFRS\) have introduced Coaching and Mentoring to the Organisation\. It has always been referred to but a formal Service Order has now been put in place\. Coaching Skills training is delivered to all Line Managers \(operational and non-operational\), and Mentoring is provided to new firefighter recruits and delegates on a Middle Manager Development Programme\. The Organisation is going through a period of transformation in terms of culture and more emphasis is being placed on Leadership\. Coaching is one of a range of Learning and Development interventions and it is important to use when it is genuinely the best way of helping an individual develop\. LFRS are looking to appoint 6 external coaching professionals to cover the potential demands across the Service\. It is envisaged there will be an equitable split of work via the matching system LFRS adopt\.
