GB-London: Safer Canvassing Guide for Councillors

2024 will see elections take place in all areas of England, with local council, GLA and PCC elections scheduled for May, and a very high probability of a general election. As candidates or as key local campaigners for their party, local councillors will be undertaking canvassing activities at a heightened frequency as these elections approach.

Given the heightened political tensions to be expected in 2024 given the point of the electoral cycle, the LGA wishes to provide advice and guidance to councillors on how to undertake canvassing in as safe a manner as possible.

Additional information: The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs). However, any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement.
