Work description
The aim of this service specification is to support the early diagnosis of TB cases, prevention and early detection of transmission, treatment compliance of active disease, detection of latent TB infection and prevention of reactivation of TB and the management of TB incidents / outbreaks in the community.
The community TB service is to provide a high quality TB specialist nurse led community TB service informed by NICE and British Thoracic Society Guidelines and JCVI guidance for the population of the Wakefield District (as defined as the residents of the Wakefield District or patients registered with a WD GP), including prisons, and appropriate links with secondary care consultants. TB services will be delivered consistently across the Wakefield District so that individuals receive a high quality care and have equal access to services.
