Carbon Abatement Pathways Study refresh

This project is part of the York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority's work on becoming England's first carbon negative region and contributing towards the national goal of net zero by 2050. It aims to understand the progress made on reaching net zero and carbon negative emissions and how the Routemap to Carbon Negative needs to be adapted to reflect this progress and the remaining carbon budget.

The aim of the project is:

To develop a current emissions baseline for the Routemap to Carbon Negative and reflect progress, develop refreshed pathways and identify necessary changes to ensure deliverability of net zero and carbon negative. The outputs of the project should support the upcoming Routemap Refresh.
