Their price assessments are used as a standard across industry, including in the Ofgem price cap (written into the methodology and requires a consultation to change). Their services are required to provide price data for analysis across Ofgem and specifically for price cap calculations. Their market commentary is the best source of wholesale market monitoring which is an essential output of the MIO team.
