## Description

Statistical analysis of anonymised linked data \(approved by HQIP and supplied by HSCIC\) which is being used to investigate a possible link between cardiovascular disease \(specifically heart failure and death\) and metal on metal hip joint replacements\. This is a pressing and necessary study being undertaken under MHRA sponsorship and commissioned by NHS England on behalf of the Secretary of State for Health in the interests of patient safety\.
