Description
Alexander Dennis Limited has been awarded a contract to deliver the first vehicles of a new, zero-emission hydrogen bus fleet for the Liverpool City Region. The 20-strong, state-of-the-art fleet will be directly purchased through the Liverpool City Region's Transforming Cities Fund and will be owned by the people of the city region. The supplier has been selected via call off from Lot 7 of the Bath & North East Somerset Council Bus & Coach Procurement Framework (Reference BNESJB/0617). Additional information: The contract end date is 31st December 2023 (purchase order date). The tender documentation stated our requirement for up to 44 hydrogen fuelled buses, with an immediate requirement for 20 vehicles and for up to a further 24 subject to further grant funding. The tender documentation made it clear that it was possible that the two options could be exercised through separate purchase orders. There is an option to extend to 31st December 2024 to exercise this option. The initial contract value is £9,599,900 (purchase of 20 vehicles). The contract contains a mechanism to vary the contract to include maintenance provisions and training based on values in Schedule 3 of the contract.
