Work description

The Army has the following objectives it wishes to achieve from its officers attending the FI programmes.

External viewpoint. In order to keep pace with society and avoid organisational insularity, develop leaders with an awareness of other organisations' leadership practices and cultures.

Organisational change. Through reflective practice, ambitious project work and knowledge-sharing with other organisations, participants act as catalysts for positive change in the Army

Deeper understanding of internal issues. Participants gain increased understanding of the Army's most fundamental leadership challenges and potential options for addressing them.

Identify leadership challenges. Address important issues within the Army that require responsible leadership intervention. This ensures that some of the benefits are realised whilst individuals are still on the Programmes.

Internal and external consultancy. By the Army specifying issues that they require assistance with (through DCGS briefing her key themes at the Kick Off meeting), the organisation gains a consultancy service delivered by senior leaders from both the Army and a variety of public and private UK organisations
