Work description

Cherwell District Council provides a range of local authority services across Banbury, Kidlington and Bicester. As a result of our current contractual arrangements for Occupational Health coming to end, the Council has taken the opportunity to review its requirements. The Council is committed to reducing sickness absence and supporting its employees health and wellbeing and providing access to information and initiatives to help its employees manage their health. The Council is looking to procure physician-led Occupational Health Services (OHS) and Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) Services for 497 employees (as at 30 September 2021) both manual and office-based. The purpose of the Occupational Health Service is to enable the Council: To respond to the health and wellbeing needs of employees and maximise productivity. To reduce occurrence and duration of absences. To fulfil its obligations and duty of care under health, safety and employer legislation. To proactively manage employees who are unwell and to provide professional, clear and unequivocal advice on solutions and appropriate reasonable adjustments. To make appropriate and reasonable adjustments to support employees prior to joining, in existing roles or redeployment. Bidders are invited to quote for the provision of the Services described at Appendix 1 Specification for a term of 3 years, anticipated to commence 1st of February.
