The Department for Education (DfE) is seeking to procure a provider of a National Mathematics Centre (NMC) to coordinate the Maths Hub Network and deliver the Teaching for Mastery programme.
The role of the National Mathematics Centre will include:
i) managing a network of Maths Hubs (schools) to deliver on their strategic priorities;
ii) delivering the Teaching for Mastery programme;
iii) the China-England Teacher Exchange;
iv) providing expert advice to DfE on mathematics and
v) acting as a lynchpin for DfE's other programmes on mathematics.
The contract will deliver the aims of the National Mathematics Centre. This includes the Government's ambitions for mastery and the Maths Hub network. The contract is expected to begin on 1.7.2019 and to run for 3 years and 2 months until 31.8.2022. This includes a 1-month transition period at the end of the incumbent supplier's contract, which runs until 31.7.2019, in order to allow the smooth transfer of functions.
