1-873 Structures Call Off Support for ANPR Camera Brackets

Highways England receives a number of requests each year from Police forces seeking to install Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras on parapets located on the bridges over the trunk road network in England. Any third party (including the Police) seeking to install ANPR camera assets on the Highways England road network must obtain prior approval from Highways England. Without obtaining this approval, no such assets will be installed on the network. In agreeing to any such requests for the installation of ANPR cameras there must be no detriment to normal Highways England operational tasks. Highways England is seeking to establish a contract for the provision of specialist support on the design of the parapet camera brackets which support ANPR cameras, and in the preparation of documents for the Approval in Principle process.
