Work description

This project seeks to provide a reliable heating source for two existing buildings on the University Park Campus in Nottingham, which are currently supplied by an existing district heating system that is becoming increasingly unreliable.

The proposal to remove both buildings from the existing district heating system and replace the heating source with a ground source heat pump.

This project not only aims to provide the two buildings with a reliable source of heating; it also looks at improving the environmental credentials by decarbonising the system with a more sustainable heating source with a mind to moving towards the University ambitions of net zero carbon. In conjunction with this, studies have been carried out as to possible upgrades to the fabric of the buildings in order to reduce the heating loads.
