## Description

Newcastle University has been awarded a project grant by the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund \(EMFF\) for the acquisition of a Fourier-Transform Infrared Spectroscopy \(FT-IR\) microscope\. The apparatus will perform marine microplastic polymer identification to allow insight into microsplastic contamination and prevalence at the lowest level of the North Sea food chain and identify changes over time\.
