Work description
The services will ensure that children and young people with disabilities and their families residing in Slough are supported to be resilient and to live as independently as possible. As far as possible, services should be accessible and local to their community. Services will focus on early help and regular breaks to meet the needs of children and young people with disabilities, enhance the well-being of the child and their family, and reduce the need for more significant support in the future.
The short breaks programme is open to all CYPs who: o Reside in Slough o Have a disability and additional needs and may require support to participate fully in leisure or recreation activities. o Are aged between birth and eighteen Short Breaks Services are essential for children with disabilities, their parents/ carers, to ensure better outcomes, provide and promote opportunities in the community and to prevent escalation of their needs, where possible.
