External Review of Clinical Dental Advisor/ Expert reports

The General Dental Council have a requirement for a supplier who can provide suitably qualified expert (s) to undertake an audit of random samples of external and inhouse clinical reports to assess whether the reports are of the required standard and quality. In particular, assess whether the report addresses adequately the instructions given to the external/ inhouse clinical expert by the GDC and if the opinion provided is reasonable and what would be expected.

The number of cases/reports required is currently estimated at 40 per year over a period of a potential 4 years.

The expert assigned to this role should have at least 5 years experience as a practicing dentist and should have the skills to review and present their findings concisely and to a satisfactory standard.

Additional information: The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs). However, any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement.
