## Description

The West Midlands Strategic Migration Partnership \(WMSMP\) works with national, regional and local partners to ensure that the region can deal with, and benefit from, migration\. We are hosted by Birmingham City Council\. For migrants and new arrivals, English language skills are central to integration into British society and the local labour market\. Having a strategic framework to support the development of these skills can 'help to unlock migrant capabilities, save costs to public services in the long term and promote a more integrated and socially cohesive society' \(Demos, 2014\)\. WMSMP is commissioning a regional mapping and coordination project for ESOL \(English for Speakers of Other Languages\) provision in the West Midlands\. It is expected that the successful applicant/s will map ESOL provision across the region and be able to estimate the needs of resettled adults, using pre-arrivals data\. They will support local authorities \(at upper-tier\) to develop plans to fill highlighted gaps, and to support an increase in the availability of ESOL, ensuring appropriateness of provision\. Finally, they will have a strong skillset in identifying and sharing good practice and wider learning opportunities, and will consider innovative ways of doing this\. WMSMP places a strong emphasis on ensuring the sustainability and replicability of the project is fully explored, and will expect successful applicant/s to demonstrate this throughout and to make recommendations in this regard\. The Council will be using its free to use e-tendering system \(in-tend\) for the administration of this procurement process and potential suppliers must register with the system to be able to express an interest\. If you wish to express an interest in this opportunity please click on the following link to access https://in-tendhost\.co\.uk/birminghamcc/ and submit your details to register\. You will then be sent details on how to log on which will enable you to download all relevant documentation\. If you are unable to register with In-tend or have any questions or problems on how to use this web site please either email us at: cps@birmingham\.gov\.uk or call CPS Helpdesk on 0121 464 8000\. Your completed documentation should be returned by noon on 27th March 2018 via the 'in-tend' system https://in-tendhost\.co\.uk/birminghamcc Shortlisted bids may be invited to interview with West Midlands Strategic Migration Partnership on Tuesday, 3rd April 2018\. Interviews will be held in the Council House, Victoria Square, Birmingham, B1 1BB\. Please note that successful bids will be expected to commence work in the week commencing 9th April 2018\. Closing date: Tuesday, 27th March 2018 Location: West Midlands
