Work description
Bootle Leisure Centre was first opened in 1996 and is a well-used facility comprising a swimming pool, water slide, gym, fitness suite and sports hall.
The building is approaching 30 years old and now requires a programme of major maintenance to ensure its continued longevity and reliable operation. In 2024, Sefton Council, as owner and operator, commissioned a building survey from Mott MacDonald which identified the need for specific building maintenance operations within the children's pool area. These include:
• Maintenance painting of structural steelworks; • Replacement of balustrades and safety railings; • Concrete repairs and cathodic protection; • Repairs to tiled surfaces; • Some M&E replacement and upgrading • Drainage System Upgrade • Replacement of Air Handling Units( separate concurrent contract)
