MCF Crossings (Phase 3), Rochdale

Tender documents issued to those awarded on TfGM Highways framework. There are multiple schools within the vicinity of these works, most notably Bowlee Park Community School on Windermere Road, which has circa 900 pupils. Consequently, there's a requirement for as much construction work as possible to be completed during the summer school holidays (24th July to 5th September 2023). An existing signal-controlled crossing on Wood Street is to be upgraded as part of the works. When this is decommissioned, it will be necessary provide a temporary controlled crossing facility close by until the new facility is operational. The anticipated legal notice period for the crossings on Wood Street and Windermere Road is May/June 2022 for 28 days. TRO notices for the proposed cycle track and new waiting restrictions are being progressed within the same timeframe. The contractor shall liaise with Rochdale Streetworks teams to identify the most appropriate times to carry out the works, noting the requirement to undertake the most disruptive elements during the 2023 school summer holidays.
